Some of the most creative games out there come from our Buildbox community. We like to highlight one of their games each week to help inspire other game creators. Our “Spotlight” picks are independent mobile games with a unique theme, gameplay idea, mechanics, or that did exceptionally well on an app store chart.
This week’s game spotlight pick is Super Skater by Bullyboy. Built with Buildbox, it’s an incredibly fun endless 8bit skating game that challenges players retro style!
So let’s take a closer look at Bullyboy’s Super Skater!
Super Skater – Skate Your Heart Out!
In Super Skater, players get to feel nostalgic as they skate through an 8-bit town performing cool tricks off rooftops, ramps, and park benches. Attempt epic flips and ollies with a quick swipe up or down the screen while skating. Skate your heart out but avoid colliding into obstacles on the streets like garbage cans, fire hydrants, and traffic cones.
As the game progresses, you’ll face police officers who will pursue you. Players must steer clear of them at all costs by dodging them, leaping over their heads, and racing past them. If they catch you, it’s game over!
There are also coins and stars that you can collect as you cruise through the streets to help you unlock new unlockable skater characters.
With its retro music and colorful 8-bit graphics, Super Skater feels like an old-school arcade game. So, if you love the classic 8-bit genre, you’ll definitely enjoy playing Super Skater!
Congratulations to the team at Bullyboy on the release of Super Skater! You can visit their website to learn more about them and their games. We hope you’ve been inspired to build your own game in Buildbox.
