I've had Mr Buzz on the back-burner for a little while now, due to building other games, but have just finished a promo video for it as I want to push it out to a different group of publishers. Any feedback or comments would be much appreciated, thanks.
This is seriously awesome. The graphics and overall imagery are off the charts. Excellent stuff @Phill Mason
@Phill Mason You should really try and put some work into your games man! lol Very cool and best of luck!
I abosolutely love the realism and gameplay in this one! Glad you are trying to break the artistic medium most apps are using now. Wish The best of luck to Mr.Buzz!
Thanks for the comments and positive vibes @Simon Crack @JustWatchApps @playsgames6666 @brakewind723, very much appreciated.
Good question heathclose. It's probably magic. I also agree that the sound atmosphere is very well done. I remember the beta I tested some time back, it was really good and now it's even better. @Phill Mason, it seems you ported your game to BB2, did you? And if yes, by any chance do you have problems with the sound of actions and objects? In my game they sometime start to repeat themselves. Very annoying...
@heathclose, Christoph nailed it, it's just good old fashioned, British-magic. Wizardry, Voodoo if you like, that's all But seriously, (tries really hard to be serious) I simply used 2 x characters - a top half and a bottom half. It did come with many hack complications, but so did everything else in BB1.35. I reckon I have more BB-hacks in Mr Buzz than non-hacks. @Christoph I didn't port this across to BB2.0, so can't comment on that sorry, the final build was done in BB 1.3.6
huh... so you copied the character? I didn't know this was a thing... soooooo... when one dies do you fly solo or does bb see it as the same death for both units?
Yup, just dragged a copy of my first character to the scene and turned him upside down and attached the first to the second. This is when the issues began. If you've seen in Mr Buzz, the metal wire passes through the two parts of the character and if either of them hit the wire, you die. The problem was, whichever one died, the other just carried on as if nothing had happened - bummer! So the way round it was to use the characters death animation and place a large (screen size) transparent object that was big enough to wipe both characters out regardless of which one got hit, it works a treat
On the flip side of what I did for Mr Buzz, you could also use 'being killed and carrying on scenario' as a game feature. Imagine you have a game where the enemies shoot at you and as an alternative 'health' option, you have 4 x your characters (imagine a balloon) placed in different positions, each time one gets shot, it blows up and you continue until all 4 are gone. A nice way to visualise a "lives" option perhaps?!?!?
