@zack I have a question as well. Does BB3 still rely on scenes? Or will it be possible to build an endless world by just adding variables that may increase over time to make it more difficult like in Unity?
I sent the log from bb3. It will have all the info plus in there for them to figure out if its a machine incompatibility
@ZackGriset i have messaged you in convo regarding the above can you reply please be much appreciated
So we thought we should simplify the camera following feature so we replaced it "Follow Force" I will shoot another video soon on how to use it, but for right now, mess around with it. It's pretty intuitive. If you can't figure it out, don't worry. I'll have something for you early next week.
Currently, BB3 relies on scenes, but the functionality you're describing will eventually be possible.
Right now it does not from what I know. I believe Trey has stated that they plan to have fbx in the future but they are unsure of the timeline.
Great question @Christoph, I loved this feature way back when I got started in apps using @TreySmith's Project Zero. Such a simple feature that allowed you to build simple games very quickly with multiple enemies, with multiple variables, that would add to the games randomness and difficulty as you progressed. I'll +1 that for sure, as it would be a very welcome feature in the BB arsenal.
Just depends, if we have access to a documentation of all the functions that are available for us to use, then yes. If not then it will not be as easy as you state it to be.
@ZackGriset Im trying to import .obj assets but having no luck at all. BB3 is does not appear to recognize the file format and is grayed out. Am using Add Asset > Import Asset. Is this correct? And if so why can I not import .obj?
Have you tried just dragging and dropping in? Saw that done in the video. Maybe the import button isn't functional yet.
Duh! You know that phrase trying to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut!! Yep imported using drag-and-drop thanks for that genius tip But. No texture info. Just the raw 3D shape. Hmmmmmm!
OK issue solved. #1 drag-and-drop duh! (thanks Cody). #2 use the objects panel and click on that object to drag texture into it.
@ZackGriset, I'm new to buildbox and i want to buy a subscription for BB3, how and where can i do that ? Best Regards
Hey There! Welcome to the fold! You can't buy a subscription to BB3 quite yet, but very soon we will have a Beta version available for all current customers to test out.
