TODAY’S GOAL:
Learn the Buildbox basics
It’s time to create something AMAZING.
Most everyone who loves games would love to make them, but the problem is they don’t know how to program or have the technical skills it takes to make something great. That was until now. We created Buildbox with every user in mind, regardless of their technical skill, and now it’s time to shine.
Our goal is not to help you create just any game, but something really good. We want you to make a game that people will love and has the chances of being a big hit. To do this effectively, we’ve decided to release a free 30 Day Game Challenge to everyone who downloads our trial.
You have 30 days to use Buildbox… let’s make it count!

STEP 1
STEP 2
STEP 3
Learn the Format
The 30 Day Game Challenge is extremely easy and the format is simple. During the next 30 days you’ll receive emails to pages like this. Sometimes, like today, the page will be dedicated to a single day. Other times the page will be dedicated to multiple days (especially when the task is larger… like creating levels).
The most important fact to know is this: Rarely will any day take up more than 5-10 minutes of your time. Our goal is to keep all of this extremely manageable and 30 days is a plenty of time to create a full game with Buildbox.
Download The Art
To use Buildbox you’ll need some art. Soon we’ll discuss how you can hire an artist or even buy art for fairly cheap from various online marketplaces, but for now we’ve included a small pack of art for you to use and get started.
If you didn’t download this art when you activated your license, do so now. It will contain multiple backgrounds, characters, objects and power-ups that you can use in your games.
Watch This Basics Video
In this video you’ll learn the basics of Buildbox. Soon we’ll go over more advanced features, but today focus on just building and previewing a simple game with the included art (protip: go full screen!):

What’s Coming Next…
Over the next 4 weeks we’ll focus on 4 different themes. Week 1 will be basic training and choosing a strong game idea. Week 2 will be more advanced training and building your game. Week 3 week be all about monetization and Week 4 will be about the launch of your game.
During the creation of the 30 Day Game Challenge we’ve kept in mind that most people are working full time jobs or are in school. The daily commitment is mild and most importantly, the full process is some serious fun, so try to keep up if possible and of course you can play catch up and review previous days if ever needed.
Know someone who might like to do the challenge with you?
Send them over to the challenge page so they can download Buildbox too:
