You did that with a font???
Yes. I was soooooo drunk on fathers day I thought "oh shit, fonts can be graphics!!!!" I also figured out a few other gems.
But what do you gain? You can make forms with or without outlines in whatever size but you can't use them as objects. How are they used with the health-bar? This is too complicated for me lol, share this damn tutorial already! ... please?
We have a winner!!!!!!
OK - challenge won by @heathclose ,
now can we have the tutorial ?
- PS - can different characters have different health ?
Change the sent to set.
I'm getting there. This is probably the most creative and innovative thing I have seen for a Buildbox game. You should get an award for that. Of course if the font represents numbers it will count from 1 to whatever and show instead the graphics put in place. This is real magic. Very cool.
Heathclose only won it half though, he didn't use a death animation as cool as yours!!!!
We all sittin here spending all this time figuring this stuff out and watch, next bb update will have the feature added in lol come on bb let's get a move on! Lol
The biggest issue I have is that this does not work with an enemy bullet. I can't attach it to the bullet and have it shoot. I need a health bar for my game but I have stuff flying at you all over the place. I will continue to ponder.
But awesomeness for figuring out the hack.
Keep hacking guys!
the font didnt work for me i dont know why
I wish there was a way to add health to the action. I tried attaching it to my character and it works on the first hit of anything and is gone. Back to the drawing board. I will keep working at it.
I put up a link to the bbdoc for anyone to download...
Thanks @heathclose - but I'm still puzzled...
- Are you telling me I need to put action behind EVERY enemy object that needs to take health from my character ?
- What if I have a game like Line Zen and want to put characters with healthbars, and there are dozens of objects on every level ?
Or you can make an enemy an action
Yeah, that occurred to me to, but the game is already 90% done, and I wanted to add this feature as a bonus...
Can't this be done differently somehow..?
Like, my character has health: 3 and damage: 1 / and all my objects have health: 1
- what can I do to show health decline when hitting some object...
- can I have some kind of trails attached that can disappear one by one... anything would help - please advise
Just like in the '80s
Ha! it was so random!
