Have you tried the latest version of the Game Wizard in Buildbox 3 yet?

If not, there is no time better than now!

We just added a ton of new functions, including the Smart Editor feature that makes editing games easier and lightning fast! No more digging through node maps to find where you want to edit. You can instantly customize your game’s entire look and feel in seconds.

Its simplified UI option panels take the guesswork out of editing, allowing you to quickly edit any character or logic generated by the Game Wizard. You can easily swap out FBX models and animations with just a few clicks to make your game truly yours.

If you’re new to game development or just unsure where to begin when using Buildbox, building with the wizard and the new Smart Editor is a great way to get started!

    Here’s how it works:
Open Buildbox 3 and choose the quick start wizard option located on the Home Screen.
The wizard will help you create a game by automatically building out the first four levels for you!

All you have to do is choose the world skin, character, enemies, and game logic that you want and click the finish button.

The Smart Editor lets you make many game changes, like swapping out characters and enemies, changing the game logic, and more.

To change a character or enemy, simply click on their icon on the left side panel. Then, on the right-side panel, select the pen icon next to the character or enemy you want to edit.

An option box with available characters will appear. Select your pick and click the replace button.

If you wish to change the character’s logic, click the logic tab on the left panel and select from the resulting drop-down menu.

We recommend you don’t stop there, though, and continue to build out your game as much as you can, aiming for at least 30-40 levels.

Remember to edit the UI screen, pause screen, and game over screen by clicking on their tabs at the top of the editor.

You can test your game at any time by clicking preview mode, allowing you to play and see your changes in action.

If you want a better sense of how it plays on an actual mobile device, you can also export it to Buildbox World and test it on your phone! When you’re ready, you can export it to the platform of your choice!

We can’t wait to see what you create with Buildbox 3! Make sure you have the most recent version. The new Smart Editor feature is only available in versions 3.4.9 and higher.
