How would you go about making a jump on let say a rail, sliding on it and getting of ?
is there a way to jump on an object and "stay" on it for a while ?
I was thinking that it's just art.
that if u put a rail as decoration and the user will "jump" on it he will feel like he made the jump but how would u make him loos if it's decoration ?

    Thank you

You can place an invisible platform under that decoration...

The skateboard will land on the platform that looks like a rail....

The rail is like a platform, so you jump on it and stay on it, right? However if you just use a simple square as a rail your skater stays Awkwardly on top of the image. So one solution is to have the rail sprite as a decoration only and a hidden platform below it to slide on that, so then it looks more like sliding on the rail rather than rolling on it.

Other solution is that the rail sprite is taller than the height of the rail image so that you have a transparent layer at the bottom of the image, and then the collision shape can be below the rail this way.

The blue is the collision shape, does not matter if achieved by a separate object or with my second suggestion. (I am on iPhone right now so please forgive me for this "artistic" scetch :)

I'd use that technique too but I wonder if the PATH feature would be useful? See p. 41 and 42 of the BB 2.0 Manual.
