Hi Boxers - I just released a game that I made with my daughter in the pandemic as a bit of fun. Its a cool but simple game (Alien Pop) and given everything going on I haven't really been checking my emails. However, I just checked today and have three separate emails from someone at Gismart. An initial email and then 2 more from the same person 5-6 days apart chasing interest. I was wondering Firstly whether it was a scam (just skeptical on any cold call) Secondly if anyone had worked with them or had feedback they could share Gav
its not a scam, they had games on the top charts. I talked to them, they will probably want to establish a connection with you and test your games.
You may want to look at this article https://www.pocketgamer.biz/news/74018/gismart-is-looking-to-partner-with-hypercasual-developers/ looks like they are pushing towards partnering up with developers and releasing games for the hyper casual market again
I would also look at Kwalee who have partnered with Buildbox as well, to help get BB games published. Then if all goes well, you might have choices to make and accept the best deal for you.
Hello ZAMAXT. as you can see, many members trust the company. I do recommend that you do make sure to verify that it’s them, but it’s awesome that you are already getting interest. we at Buildbox can’t wait to see your creation.
Thanks team - Really appreciate the inputs, did as much digging as I could and appeared like it was from a legit source. Love the BB Community. I replied to them and they asked a few questions on size of my company, software etc... so I'll see if they like that I'm basically solo and using Buildbox.
I believe a solo developer is very ideal for indie games publishers, so if they liked your game, you probably good to go
