Hi, I wanted to test my game with test flight. So i tried to download it via USB to my phone but it gives an error saying "Could not find Developer Disk Image". I read in stack overflow that i should update Xcode from Xcode 7 to Xcode 8. But as you know Xcode 7 is officially supported (BB) and if i will update to Xcode 8 there will be some errors and etc. Could you tell me what is the problem and how can i solve it.
what iOS is your iPhone? If your iPhone is iOS 10 , i think you need Xcode 8. Not 100% positive though.
here is a link for what to do for testing on ios10 using Xcode 7. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/37945376/use-xcode-7-with-ios-10
Yes you are right. Ok, thank you very much. I will try it and let you know the result. Also i would like to know that only i am facing with this problem or everyone using xcode 7 have the same problem?
From what i know you can't test on iOS 10 with Xcode 7. So you will need to update to Xcode 8, or use a device with iOS 9. Im still using Xcode 7 and my test device is still iOS 9.
Are you doing external testing? If yes you need to send an invite by mail and install via testflight app. No direct download via usb. If you are using internal testing then your device UDID needs to be added in the developer center (not itunesconnect) as a test device. If not part of that, you will get this error when downloading through usb.
Thanks for answer Christoph, i am using internal testing and i have already added my device in developer center as a test device. But i am getting an error.
Ok, then the culprit is ios 10. You are right. Do the following: 1. Change the name from Xcode to Xcode 7.3.1 in your applications folder 2. Install Xcode from the Appstore. Now you will have 2 Xcodes. Run the new one once. Close it again. 3. Open Xcode 7.3.1 and compile your game, run it on your device. Now it should recognize the new SDKs for ios 10 and it should work.
Thank you very much Christoph, but i have a new problem. I wanted to upload it to apple store but after archiving when i click to Validate, Xcode stuck. Any suggestions?
Hmmmm I never validate. don't even know what it is for... haha, but it might be just a temporary server problem. Or try to turn off/on your computer and check again. To upload to the appstore I go to Product/Archive and then click on "Upload to App Store". As said, never have used validate before.
Hmm, i clicked to validate in order to be sure if there are errors or anything that i forgot to add like launch image or icon. And what do you think about Application Loader? Should i use it? Did you try it?
@Christoph Afaik validating process is done during uploading so you can just validate to archive or collect validated package for some reason, eg. to send it to other galaxy before AppStore will get there ;P
