I'm probably missing something but if not I can't believe it: I set up a simple game with several scenes. Each scene has a next checkpoint action which takes you to the next scene. The problem is when I get to the next scene my current score gets completely reset. I tried with coins and points, none of them work. I checked from Buildbox 2.1.0 up to 2.2.9. It's the same problem. It seems this problem is part of Buildbox 2 and never was fixed. Or has anyone a tip on how to achieve this?
Have you checked the coins settings? World > All Score type > Coins Amount > Current (for that game world only) I haven't used checkpoints in any games but I would imagine it would be something to do with the World settings
@Andy that's exactly what I was having with games using checkpoint i have contacted support many times about this problem so they know about it but iam not sure when they are going to fix it.
Na same problem here with checkpoints, and also when using menu jump i can't get it to keep the score as well, thought i was doing something wrong, but yea every checkpoint wipes my score to zero.
Just ran a small checkpoint test, points and distance are working fine, there seems to be some difference with just current coins (total coins works fine). If you have another example please share it so I can make sure that gets fixed as well.
Distance is not the problem. The problem are coins and points. you can do this with the default buildbox setup. I never used checkpoints before but I can't believe that this problem exists since version 2.0. BBDOC attached. The problems: 1. every time you get send to the next scene with next checkpoint the score resets. 2. every time you die the score gets reset.
OK, a workaround for you. 1) Set the reward on the Next Checkpoint action instead of the Set Checkpoint action. 2) Use points instead of coins to display correctly. So in addition to world current coins not working, we will check out why rewards don't seem to work properly when using "Set Checkpoint" actions. If this doesn't cover everything let me know with specifics. This is a perfect example why an example BBDOC is so important. I was able to identify an additional possible issue because of this.
1. I think you missed the point. The problem is the coin and or point score. Put a coin action. Pick it up. Then pick up the next checkpoint and change scenes. The score gets reset. So basically this means when you use next checkpoint to get to the next scene, you can't use at all coins or points. 2. No. Points do not work either. None of them do. The only score that works is distance. 3. When you die happens the same.
