Ok guys, So I'm playing with the near final version fo Alpha 2 and wanted to give you guys our first REAL look at BB3. Now warning: This is an hour long video that is completely off the cuff, unedited, and showing a pre-alpha 2 build (i.e. there are crashes, weird pauses in the video, me trying new stuff, etc). It's unlisted and will be staying that way We'll do an official video after Alpha 2 release (about one week).
After watching this video my brain is just going 1000mph thinking of ideas. BB3 is about to skyrocket BB to the top in news media. I honestly think BB3 will be responsible for many devs using other software to jump ship and sign up. This is exciting. I can see a ton of diff from playing with alpha 1 to what you showed. One thing I do wish to know though is if we can change VIEW DISTANCE. As in video, you only see so far ahead right? Or maybe if you put like 20 levels in, you could see all 20 from the beginning when you have a 3rd or 1st person camera angle. View distance is crucial for those car games and what not.
Whats really cool is BB3 is setup to help us be more creative. The ability to create MANY new gameplay types is finally here. Your brain seems to be the only limit of what you can make. Gonna be saweet.
Will there be variables? There can be blocks for - set variable " " to and events when variable " " <, > or = to a number and then in the right side a list of variables It can be very useful for making games with special functions
Wow excellent stuff. Nodes. State Machines. Change object color. Collison Mesh etc. BB3 is going to rock man
Is there documentation for the programming aspect yet? If so I would love to read up on it for when Beta gets released! I am planning a tutorial series right now in order to help people understand javascript with BB3. @Buildbox
Thanks guys, more to come soon! Will keep you updated. We'll try to move quickly from Alpha 2 to Beta. Really want to see what you maniacs create
I’ve only watched 5 minutes and I’m super hyped! I can’t wait to have a go. I have to leave the house now, so I will watch the rest later. Keep up the awesome work.
Just finished watching this. It looks amazing and I really can't wait to give it a try Two things I would love to see added is firstly, snapping nodes. I don't like messy mind maps, so I'd love to see nodes snapping above each other or to the grid. Secondly, a button that quickly moves the developing "view" to where the camera outline is positioned in the World, so at a click of the button you can see the view of the scene without having to scroll to the camera position, or open preview
I just spent hours writing a coroutine to get a character to simply move a specific distance with a finger swipe in Unity. I’m ready for BB3.
It's like your hacking Nik and My text. Literally what we're working on right now. Also, when you click the button to see the camera's current view point, you will then see the bounding box for character.
