Buildbox 3.3.9 #4204 Is Officially Live!

    Hey there Creators!

    We have a new update fixing 30+ issues including the pesky folders issue introduced in 3.3.7. We've also updated Admob SDK so you can update your ads and get rid of the iOS Warning image. See the full list below ;)

    Fixed Issues

    The following fixes have been applied to Buildbox 3.3.9:

    • Fixed an issue that causes an error to occur after creating a 2D game.
    • Fixed an issue in the UI Editor Outliner that changes the asset order.
    • Dragging an asset to a group folder now correctly places the asset in that folder.
    • Transparent objects during preview no longer appear darker as they move further from the camera.
    • Selecting an asset that contains multiple images in the Asset panel will no longer display a different image in the scene editor and asset panel.
    • Fixed an issue that prevented certain assets from being selected.
    • Crash no longer occurs after passing strings as arguments to the sub scene functions.
    • Crash no longer occurs after giving a duplicate name to a custom node attribute in the Options, and the error pop-up window now appears at its proper size.
    • Crash no longer occurs after deleting an image in the left panel of the Sprite editor.
    • Crashes no longer occur during preview after a UI asset activates the Game Over input of an event node.
    • Fixed a back end issue that caused some projects to crash.
    • Rotating a single axis with the rotate tool in the Scene Editor now adjusts the proper axis value.
    • Exported games on a mobile device now pauses every time the app is hidden on a mobile device if the game has a pause menu.
    • Fixed an issue that caused the Z axis to appear in 2D Worlds and disappear in 3D Worlds.
    • Changes in the Sub-scene manager are now only applied after clicking the Assign button.
    • Trail node now contains an Up Vector attribute that allows it to be adjusted to appear in 2D Worlds.
    • Default Worlds and Worlds that are added to the Mind map will now start with the same scene view and start/end point positions.
    • Artifacting no longer occurs in the Brainbox previews.
    • Admob integration updated for iOS.
    • Stick to Edge node now works properly.
    • Fixed an issue in the Path Move node that prevented scenes from endlessly looping.
    • Fixed an issue that cause out of memory leaks to occur in the preview window.
    • Preview window no longer dissapears after moving it to another external display.
    • Increased the size of the JS memory pool.
    • In the Asset Library, the Add to Library button is now Add to Project.
    • New JS API function: worldRotation(Quat) for entities.
    • Logging System.fps() no longer crashes Buildbox.
    • Removed multiple options that are disabled in the Buildbox menu bar.
    • Fixed an issue that was hiding group folders in the asset panel.
      TIP: If an asset or group folder does not appear in the Asset panel, add another asset from the Asset Library to refresh the folder list.

    Wow that's a long list of fixes. Thanks for this build :)

    Update : I tried playing game made with 3.3.6. Still the game world opens blank. I have send the game to support already.

    nice update , here are some things you guys may have missed :
    - syntax errors still don't get logged
    - animation component's rotation is reversed when previewing
    - view / show / hide animation bar is buggy (going in and out of worlds resets the visibility)
    - unable to select objects that have a negative scale (2D world) with a mouse click
    great update nonetheless , the requested function is working as intended now

    Hi and thanks for posting this feedback, really do appreciate it!
    - I believe we are currently working on the syntax errors. However, I would like it if you can provide any details about this to support@buildbox.com.
    - Can you also include examples of the "animation component's rotation is reversed when previewing"?
    - Show / hide animation bar issue confirmed. Thank you.
    - I will also investigate the issue with selecting objects with a negative scale value.

    Hello kwinchi,

    Hue is right, we are working on the issue about syntax errors not getting logged. This should be resolved in our next BB3 release 3.3.10.

    Great Update! No bugs on my side. It did crash once though but I dont really know what caused it and it hasnt happened since lol.

    I havnt tried the IAP yet but as it wasn't mentioned, Im assuming its still in the works.

    Apart from that. Good update that is much more stable :)

    Hi the performance on android is highly improved only I tested like 3 times with different game exports and the admob doesn’t work. I published the games at googleplay all without ads. Both of them had their ids created like a year ago so its not a problem of new admob id or anything.

    @Hue Buildbox I actually PMed you on this but also wanted to write up here so maybe another boxer might help. The games I published are:

    For admob be sure to add banner id too, inside BB, even if it you dont use it. If you dont fill in all the ids it wont work

    Hmm I filled the banner but didn’t add the rewarded video maybe thats the problem u think? @Tars Tarkas Thanks a lot btw for this.

    I just tried it. you are right it doesn't work
    But the performance is better

    Too bad, when they finally improve the performance, ads dont work.
    Please do fix it soon

    Also 3d objects with texture with alphas don't look good in the fog

    Hey Volkan,
    I was able to test your game on Android and ads did not work for me as well. I recommend following Tars Tarkas advice and fill in all ads sections even if you're not using them. You should actually test with test ads before publishing.

    Hi @Hue Buildbox IF you check the last entry by @Tars Tarkas he also couldn't make it work when he tried. So It is not working definitely..I would appreciate a quick fix on this cause there isn't any monetization right now on Android for BB3 users with this latest edition. Thank you.
