Shortly after writing this post I discovered the answer to my question. I kept overlooking the answer without realizing it was right in front of my eyes. The original question: I was wondering how to change the character X-axis speed in an avoidance preset. It's as simple as changing Max Speed in the Advanced Gameplay Settings.
