When my character jumps on a platform I want the platform to kinda squish down and bounce back up. Is their a way to do this simple animation straight in build box or will I have to use a different software? If I do have to use a different software could you link some good animation software for me?

    You can do it in:

    Spriter Pro
    Photoshop
    illustrator
    Affinity Designer

An animation is created with multiple png's. Create all the necessary images that show the animation then copy/paste them into the respective Animation box.

Check this video out which should help you get the concept.

The smoothness is determined by the number of images you create.

Just to add on to this. In Spriter Pro all you have to do is create the motion and it will auto spit out the png images. This might be easier for you.
