Hey all I am trying to do something extremely simple in Blender. I've tried the old version 2.79 and the new beta version and the problem is the same after exporting and wanted to know what I am missing. I've watched several tutorials, tried the various techniques but the end result is the same. I am attempting to place a simple hole in a cylinder platform - like Golf. However, whenever I export as a obj file, there is only 1/2 a hole even though in blender, the full hole is shown. Thanks. It exports fine as an FBX file, just not obj .
Hey @rizwanashraf would you know a good tutorial for adding a material/texture (say an image of a soccer ball) to an object in Blender, then exporting it, so both display correctly in BB3 as an obj? I've only found some and when I export, the ball is black when I add the texture. Cheers
I am still trying to figure that out, I know there is a way you can export UV Maps from Blender by doing some extra work with the texture and it will lay out in UV Map for you to export but i cant import that properly. I think if @PunkPuffin can add some valuable info because he did that already successfully. https://www.buildbox.com/forum/index.php?threads/animate-a-model-in-bb3.16813/
when you have your object selected Then hit tab then switch to edge mode and select your edges you want your seams to be in your uvlayout then hit ctrl + e (windows) this will bring up your edges options, from that window select mark seam then double tab "a" on the keyboard to select all your edges of your object Then hit "u" on the keyboard and from the window that pops up select Unwrap then go up to the top left of the screen where your layouts are: click the button: select uv editing should look something like this. i am using blender 2.79
here is the continue of my first post... make sure your in edit mode with all your faces selected, and you should see your uvwrap on the left side show up once you have it selected, go to the bottom left of your screen and select uv's, and select export uv layout you will see this window, save your file where you want it: then you can open that file up in your graphics program like photoshop or whatever you use, once you have the text painted you can apply that on your object, and then re export your obj and it will use the uv map you created for the texture as the material.
