Congrats on the feature Just a heads up - It doesn't load on iPad 2 and iPhone 5s for me, crashes on boot for both devices so haven't got to play sadly
Sorry for late reply To be honest I really have no idea So is what I have noticed I had 4 worlds in my game My atlas size was 18 and game size is now 25But I stil get from people that game lags 1. Buildbox try to load all art while game is loading, so it takes time to load the game . 2. Appodeal ads creates another load on the game , especially you are using banner ads 3. Add integration is itself on the gameplay interface so it makes game lag 4. In android ABOUT leaderboard buildbox , I have seen that in debug mode buildbox keeps calling for leaderboard service where as in game like temple when you click on leaderboard icon it will ask you for signing Conclusion 1. Game with more that 15 atlas gonna lag and will take more time to load 2. Add network 3. And still there are few issues with buildbox that out of our hand Thanks Boxer Keep making games
15 Atlasses is kinda insane - Even most bigger games can be achieved with around 2 or 3 at max - that would be the reason for sure
Ha ha to be honest NO There are different methods how do you load those assets I have so many animations and I am using those animations at 0.5x not even 1x My game size is just 25mb It’s matters how engine loads your assets
More time to load makes sense with the atlases. 15-18 won't be too bad on newer devices, but old ones it can definitely struggle and crash. If a ton of objects are resized within Buildbox that can cause lag (especially on older devices) as the device has to resize the original art in real time (Not sure if this is the case). Regarding Android we actually should have a build with the leaderboard issues coming here in the next day or two so that will help with that if anyone is having similar issues. Almost one and half months with my full time job I was using 0.5x art because I knew I have to loads of animation of each object Besides I have 8 characters to unlock and each character has its default animation ☺️ I agree 15 atlas is too much , but I saw in console it wasn’t loading like the way cocos loads assets Never mind buildbox made my job easy Buildbox Rocks
By using 0.5x art, do you mean you're scaling your artwork down by 50% inside Buildbox? If so, it's recommended to use 1:1 sizes in Buildbox. It's optimised that way to reduce loading times.
@ Vikas, is that working 16 hour days? just trying to understand how i can get better at my production. i am currently not that fast...lol but hope to be one day.
