Hey Guys ! How do you remove Unused Meshes in your project sitting, Taking space for no reason ! 0--0 Unlocking them in a Mesh Manager Does not Work ! Any good practice or its impossible Best.
Hey Vlad !! Tested on all of these versions. 3.3.2 3.3.3 3.3.4 3.3.5 I guess this is the Latest if i am not wrong!
Just tried this and it worked fine. Did you save after unlocking the unused mesh? It is required to save the project to discard the meshes to be clear
Yes I tried almost everything i could think of actually, Saved the project Multiple times, Rename the file name too lol which was not needed i believe. refreshed the atlas, Lock unlock Lock unlock the Meshes in Mesh Manager, Nothings working :/ Due to some heavy Meshes i imported .bbdoc Filesize jumped from 1mb to 18mb and now Its stuck at 18mb!
What do you mean by directory ? My bbdoc stays in my Dropbox Folder and My all assets stays in my Local drive.
if from fbx, it cannot be removed, I've contacted support to resolve this issue about 3 months, i don't know if they resolve it or not, I still not update my buildbox
ok, deleting the actual objects that contains the fbx file will delete your file from your sub scene, for 3d it will be enough to disable the mesh by clicking on the lock itself. for all other cases you just have to be careful what you import and when to import it. I suggest to use a "stable" bbdoc (a backup of the same bbdoc) and then do the change and if that does not work to reload the backup file. There's no need for a cleanup option in fbx since that could break some objects that you use with that same exact mesh.
Anyway I've decided to share this with you since you all have the same problems. For those of you who are looking for a quick tutorial here is a link that I made to prove that it can be done: https://www.buildbox.com/forum/inde...used-objects-for-both-fbx-and-obj-file.20175/
Whenever you export your game, you can open the exported file. from there you are able to reduce the size of the file by removing any unwanted objects.
