I am trying to get the Android APK of my app but whenever I try to export it from Eclipse it has three errors that say "The method ceil(float) is undefined for the type FloatMath". Any idea what this is about or some other way I can export this? Thanks!
Most likely you need to install API 21 via the Android SDK Manager: http://developer.android.com/tools/help/sdk-manager.html Make sure you have followed our Android publishing guide exactly: https://www.buildbox.com/guides/
You trying to make game with SDK 6.0 or higher. Just Erase Float from FloatMath and will be ok. Save it and go to Project - Clean.
Does anyone have the eclipse download? I went on the website and there is several downloads.. I don't know which one I need.
https://eclipse.org/downloads/ Just do the one that says something like "Try the Eclipse Installer" and then once you download it and it asks you which one you want, click the top one. @duslicrest
Thanks, also would you happen to know how to fix this, when I go to test the game on eclipse, I right click the thing on the side bar and click run as, "Android Application" but it comes up with an error: "Your project contains errors, please fix them before running your application"
Yeah, this happened to me a lot before I finally got it to work. Can you post a screenshot of which errors are occurring? I think they will probably be language errors and FloatMath errors, of which I can fix both. You also may have an error that says something like "unable to find Android 21" and I can tell you how to fix that too. @duslicrest
Ok yeah just delete "Float" from each "FloatMath" then save the project and then go to "Project>Clean." That should fix it. @duslicrest
Thank you so much you fixed the errors, but one more question, when I ran it, this came up, do I click yes or no?
Depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to run your app on an emulator, then yes. But you could do that in Buildbox.. Are you trying to export the APK to run on your device? @duslicrest
Ah. Read this: https://www.buildbox.com/publish-android-build-for-google-play/ Scroll down to "Build APK." @duslicrest
Okay so I did that but another error came up and it says this: and then when I click ok, there is now 17 more errors...
Ok right click on your project in the Package Explorer tab, click Properties at the bottom, click Android Lint Preferences, then click Ignore All. Then resave and clean then try building the APK again through Android Tools. @duslicrest
Thanks a lot that fixed it, but one more thing, I don't know how to do this keystore thing? The guide wasn't very clear about it.
Yeah for sure. You just do what the guide said and if you don't understand that this explains it as well: Hope it helps. @duslicrest
Sorry to bother you but when I was making another APK just doing exactly what you said and these errors came up when I imported the files.. I have no idea why this is happening.
