The Ball Jump Interview

'ball jump interview'

Buildbox customer, Florian Porkert, created the game Ball Jump. Built entirely using Buildbox, Ball Jump has skyrocketed to the top of the App Store, landing the #2 spot of All Apps and becoming the #1 game in more than 30 different countries. It’s currently the most successful Buildbox game ever released.

In Ball Jump players have to guide a rolling ball in mid-air along a moving platform of cubes. Accompanied by a hypnotic jungle-style soundtrack, speed, precision and timing is everything. Players must prevent the ball from falling while the pathway is being built in real-time.

In this exclusive interview led by Buildbox founder Trey Smith, creator Florian Porkert, discusses how he developed Ball Jump, what inspired him the most and his game development process. He also shares some of the tips he learned through the experience and what he believes is the secret to success in the mobile game industry.

Great Article! .. I couldn’t make out what Florian said when he was telling Trey how he was finding out how many people were playing games daily as opposed to downloading and not playing daily. Where did he say he was getting the information from?
    Thanks

Thanks! Unfortunately, there’s no specific resource named during the interview for where Florian was gathering his information from. However he does mention that he conducted all of the research on his own. There’s a lot of game information that can be found online or through mobile app analytics tools like AppAnnie.

Florian claimed he had access to DAU numbers for his ketchapp game research . I don’t think he had access to this metric. Anyway
