Hello guys! I have a really big problem, I am having from zero to 1,500 downloads weakly from Japan and China , I don't know how and why ( With N.E.X.T ) but In Game leaderboard I have only 91 players. What's happening? I repeat next was a dead game on appstore and now it says Game unit last 7 days 1,500 total this weeks 5-6000 downloads. I don't know what to do , already contacted appstore team but nothing. I am not having revenue nothing.
this has been mentioned by @spicedbeangames , having the same thing happen. Sudden surge of downloads. Also myself have just noticed a small spike, nothing as large as you guys have mentioned, but my ad impressions in china and japan are growing largely yet no revenue. Its weird my game had no impressions in china and japan for months then bang, Not sure whats happening.
Same situation with me. One of my old games is getting increased downloads but I am getting revenue from Chartboost.
I don't see 6.000 players in leaderboard but it says 6.000 downloads lol wtf? iTunes is going crazy on China and Japan.
Please note not everyone logged on to Game Center... Do you have any other app analytics in your game? Those may give you a better numbers on retention rate and loads of other stuff than a simple number of downloads from AppStore.
I had a generic response from Apple. They said that their own data only tracks downloads through iTunes, so external links are not included in their metrics. It's clear that the downloads are being driven from an external source/website/store - but where, I haven't managed to track down. We are not alone as theres some posts on the Apple dev forum but no official response. It's the strangest thing.
