Hi People, we are fixing art of our game Crush Escape. which of the two do you prefer as art for our game? Right or Left?
I like them both and probably would use both. haha. It also depends on the characters and the audience you are going to target. The gameplay is important too. If it is anything close to Geometry Dash, go with the first. Basically make sure it looks very very different to Geometry Dash. Otherwise this, just use both for different modes or levels.
We are a customer of buildbox, and have published some games using buildbox. This post is about game art, and the end result could be used in a buildbox game (either this exact art asset, any enhanced art, or the experience gained from people's feedback may go to a buildbox game). But if you are specific about the game in the video, no. That's built using unity.
I think I would go more with the left one. It is more unique and original. It also has more a puzzler feeling to it. Now there is one thing that the right one has and is missing from the left one: Contrast. The enemies stand out which is nice for the gameplay experience I think. Also, having the background darker helps a lot. So this might be something to consider if you go with the left one. I can imagine that you use the left one and for some kind of bonus levels you use the right one.
