I just saw this video -> And it's supposedly a Buildbox 3 game and from what I saw, it looks like bb3 supports soft body Physics? Or is it a script? Im not an expert in scripting but I wasn't aware that you could implement soft body Physics through scripts. I assumed that the engine needed to support those physics?
Clever, but just looks like a simple animation on the squishy ball. Nice looking game. Easy to do in BB3. As a point of clarification on saying "easy to do", I do not mean it was simple, I mean it would be straight-forward. It is very clever and that's the most difficult part. Great job!
If this is pure 3d I can say 100 percent that this isn't an animation only because of the fact that bb3 does not support fbx. It could be a 2d animation or the scale could be set within code.
The above physics effect can be achieved without soft body physics with current BB3. By scaling the 3d ball in one direction with ease. If it is a BuildBox 3 Game, game concept cleverly executed with currently available features. But it is possible with BB3.
@LBPToo I won't have a chance to play that game. I think it is only available in the US. Did you able download and play that? Can you confirm its BB3?
@particles I searched on the app store and can't find it. I suspect it hasn't been released yet. There's nothing I've seen in it that would preclude it from being built in BB3, If you search on YouTube you will see a "review" of it where he says it will be released in two weeks.but that was a month ago.
FYI, I can confirm this is built with BuildBox 3, and by Buildbox(NIk and crew) and has not been released yet. I actually found this out on Friday but wasn't sure if I should talk about it. It was on the app store for testing for a while but they pulled it down to finish it.
Thanks @LBPToo We can achieve similar gameplay with current BB3 but credit goes to the game design with current features. The main issue is points, levels reset back on restarting the app. If they fix it then we can build a complete gameplay.
Yes, there are definitely some bugs that are urgent. I expect a big step ahead with beta 3 from what I've heard. BTW, this is another obvious benefit of Nik developing games with BB3. He's bound to run into bugs like this one, and in that case, they get fixed immediately, even if we as end users don't get the benefit until the next release.
