So I noticed the game Smashy Road is currently the #1 free game on ios. They have a great monetization strategy. You can earn coins by watching a video, which we can do as well, however what is such a great addition is that they only allow you to get other cars as characters by paying for them or by using a slot machine in the game. You can earn in game currency during game play OR you can earn in game currency by watching video ads. They then have a slot machine that gives you the opportunity to unlock any car at random. I think this is a really great strategy and we only do not have the ability of the slot machine idea they are using. Hopefully we could have a feature added to where we could have people use their in game currency to unlock a character at random which is only available for purchase with real money.
I would think that it would be a slot machine that you could customize for each game. like a template that you could add on to similar to the game presets. But who am I to talk I don't build the software haha!
Could even be simpler. If we could at least have a button that would choose a character to unlock after having watched a video or otherwise using a random attribute that would be stellar.
You may have seen the other thread, but we have this last request currently. Just add a button graphic to the unlock suggestion box inside the character selection controller. We probably won't be adding a slot machine type this here in the near future.
Hey @Andy I'm aware that we can have them watch a video to unlock the character but can we make the character unlock random? That's what I think would be a great upgrade. Are you telling me we can currently set the character that is unlocked to random? So the game player would watch the video and then they hit the unlock button they would not know which character is unlocked until they press it.
When you have enough coins to buy a character the unlock suggestion (button) appears. It will unlock a random character that the player has enough coins to purchase. It should work the same as it does in SKY.
@Andy that's awesome! I didn't know this was possible. I haven't used multiple characters in a game yet so hadn't spent time studying the IAP options.
