Just played this @beardedrobotgames, very smooth with great gameplay, congrats. I really like the added Zen Mode, nice touch for chilling out and getting to grips with the control flow, great thinking. Love the mellow audio tracks too. Wish you all the success with it.

 

Great game! @beardedrobotgames . Love the simplicity, so relaxing! Do you mind if I ask, did you customize the app store name / description / keywords in other languages besides english to get those European features? I've been trying to figure out how crucial it is in to be considered for a feature outside the U.S.

Thanks @stevinz ! Yes, I added as many translations as I could (just used Google translate). I added translations for App Name, Description, What's New, Keywords, etc....

Off the top of my head - English, French, German, Italian, Danish, Finnish, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Arabic and maybe a couple more.

I've reported it to "App Store Content Dispute" website. This guy has actually copied so many games, and it looks like there is a lot of copies from buildbox too. Would encrypting the games help prevent this? Or are the assets still accessible?

 

lol, this guy almost copied every Buildbox game available. I think support @Andy might help as well. But yes, report what you can, if a lot of reports get to Apple at the same time they might take his account away. Slip Away @mikafabz is there as well and a lot of others.

And yes, use encryption if you want others to not copy it. From what I know it's pretty much impossible to reverse engineer when you encrypt it.

Yeah, it's quite bad that he's got away with copying all of the games.

Encryption wasn't available when I first released the game (April 2017), and it looks like he's copied it within 2 or 3 months of the initial release.

 

Just send DMCA takedown notice to Apple. It will be effective, especially if he has multiple violations.

Yes, encryption will stop 99% of this with just a small amount of additional loading time.

 

Adam Irvine has ripped off a lot of Buildbox games it seems... Bounce, Hexavoid, Slip Away, Ball jump etc etc etc

 

Whoop whoop... Looks like the app has been removed. However the rest of the BB clones still remain in his account. Instead of continuing here, maybe we could create a thread somewhere to report issues like this. Thanks for all the help guys xoxo
