Hello everyone. So my second BuildBox game went live today in the AppStore. It's called 'Sky Castle' and is an endless isometric platform style game. I welcome all feedback. Thanks so much for looking. Web Link Here iOS Download Link Here Here's a Gameplay video: I hope you all enjoy it Have a great day.
Beautiful. But if I were you I would adjust the game frame so it doesn't move at all vertically. Did you try to get a publisher for this one?
Thank you everyone for the kind comments @Christoph I didn't approach a publisher no. Mainly because, if I'm completely honest, I don't think it's good enough. And it almost certainly doesn't come close to competing with what popular publishers are currently pushing out.
@Sam_Aaro The art style is absolutely fantastic, no doubt about it, the fascinating characters, the soundtrack, and the well polishied gameplay, all good. But would like to suggest one thing, do try and avoid showing the unlock characters in advance, sometimes if players do watch the unlock characters in small indie games like ours, they may loose potential interest in unlocking and may stop playing so better keep them surprising and eager to play more by not showing the unlock characters and covering with any unlock text or maybe any image
Thank you so much. And great advice. I'd never really looked at it that way. Now I think about it more, it's what the majority of games do. The question is now, do I update this app, or just learn my lesson and implement it in future games?
My upcoming game has 45 characters to unlock. They are all visible. I like it much more if the user can see them so he knows what he can unlock and sets his goal. If they are hidden and are not as intriguing as the user hoped for, he will stop to unlock them. I want him to work toward a real goal. Crossy Roads has made this implemented pretty good. But they have a random unlocker and if you really want a specific character you can pay for it. It would be amazing to have this feature as well in Buildbox. So what I did is to make the prices go upward and I hope this will make the user more intrigued to get the more expensive ones which also look a little bit cooler than the cheaper ones...
Wait, do you mind providing me with your email, i have tons of questions to ask you. Like for example, how did you manage to make your character stay moving on that platform without moving off it further in the game. Like just stayed directly on that path. Then lastly, how did you make a platform stick above the other path?
