Hi guys, I am having some problems with checkpoints. I created a new game using the Wall Reverse gameplay type. I have 3-4 scenes and I am using set checkpoint, next checkpoint to move between scenes. The problem is that after start scene, all the others appear to be moved (depending on game direction) and they do not appear in same positions. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!
is very important position, try to work with chekpoint as small if the game goes down or up because if an enemy will strike and will be checkpoints, will be from where you died, and if you did not exactly die in the middle, you will not be able to do anything. wait a subscribe a share,
Thanks @anngelinoo for your answer, but I think my problem is a bit different. I have a Wall Reverse game template, so the scenes are not moving 1 after another (gameplay is kinda of static). So, when the character collects something (a checkpoint), i want to move to the next scene (where I can have different elements).
Can you show where you are placing the checkpoint? I worked out the checkpoint in the scene you are going to, (so that is the set checkpoint action) needs to be place where the character starts, then all the other elements will stay in the correct position. Let me know if that doesn't make sense. Cheers
@bluemoonstudios In the image i attached the boxes are the checkpoints: Start Scene - i have a Next Checkpoint (box in top right area) Scene 1 - in the same position I have a Set Checkpoint and in a different area (bottom left area) I have a new Next Checkpoint which should take me to Scene 2 Let me know if that helps, if not I can upload the BBox file. Thanks!
Place the set checkpoint in scene1 over the top of the character, and see what happens and let me know.
Still just a bit. I attached the BBox doc so you can see. What I would like is that in scene 2 the character to start at the position he was in scene 1.
You need create a new action when select next checkpoint and put intro a scene and next scene need have a checkpoint
So the problem I am having is similar to this post: https://www.buildbox.com/forum/inde...rld-scene-start-end-question.7305/#post-38629 @bluemoonstudios I have similar problems where the scene moves down like in your video: Did you ever manage to fix that (in a different way than moving everything on top) ?
No mate, not with the around the world preset. I made a tap to shoot game and was able to get it to work fine without adjusting positions of other elements. I also use checkpoints to test levels and i dont get this issue. So i have no idea why with this preset it keeps doing that. When I have more time I keep trying to figure this out
I figured out that the position of your "Set Checkpoint" influences on the shifting. If you move it at the same amount of pixels, as your shifting, then the shift will be gone.
But still, it is a problem. I made a game a few months ago and everything was fine, but then I opened it again and everything is messed up now. Does anyone else have this kind of problem?
look over the states of the checkpoint & restart checkpoints may have missed something or simply have not saved
There is a solution from Andy, but you have to stick to on of your axis (which is not convenient - I have to use PORTAL to relocate my character) https://www.buildbox.com/forum/inde...up-when-used-next-checkpoint.9211/#post-49123
