PIXEL CRAZY I have been working for a while on this game and am really happy to announce my new game Pixel Crazy. Come on BB community show some Love. (Its still in development) Pixel Crazy is a music themed auto running platformer. Featuring 50 levels with 5 types of beats introduced every 10 levels the player has to master all the beats to pass the levels. The obstacles are the beats themselves. Feedback is welcome. @adtn64 I notice that in the title you refer to your game as a platformer... Since the character doesn't have a choice to stop, wouldn't it essentially be considered an "impossible game" like unto Geometry Dash? I mean it doesnt matter really, just wondering
Even Geometry Dash is a platformer. Its description says: jump and fly your way through danger in this rhythm-based action platformer! If you have platforms it basically is a platformer. Running games, impossible etc all are. Looks great. How do you work with the music? Are you making this in BB2?
Hey @Christoph I made this on BB1, thinking of upgrading to BB2 for some added features. Didnt get the first question, could you please elaborate ?
@Christoph So right now the beats are obstacles and its aesthetic for the music theme .......the track plays in the BG......im thinking of adding custom sounds that change the track depending on the beat, but dont dont know how its going to work out......Its possible in BB but I'm facing some design issues. Like if I Place the track in the game field then it restarts every time you die. So i will individual tones like a rhythm game. I can add 1 soundtrack for 1 level and make it a long ass level, but i dont wanna do that, i like the idea of shorter levels. Im still working on it. But what do you think of the art and overall premise ?
Me too, I really like it. You achieved great things with the music and the gameplay in sync. Not an easy task with BB. What I would like to know is how you think to resolve the level design since you will have to compete with Geometry Dash and this is not an easy task at all. I wouldn't put more frames in the jump animation. In the video it looks cool how it is. Are you using Testflight? I for sure would like to take it for a flight.
Good work so far. It's a delicate balance to follow an old concept (Geometry Dash), while making your work unique and special in its own way.
Hey @Christoph thanks a ton, im still working on the music and gameplay sync, the concept doing most of the work for itself right now honestly, the feeling of beats like an equaliser is so right in your head it sort of makes it feel perfect in the video , I'm still trying to achieve that. Its the main reason I havent completed the game yet. Yes its not an easy task for sure. What do you mean resolve level design ? Yes I am using test flight, leave your email ID in the reply, Ill add you as a tester. Thanks for the awesome feedback though. One more thing Why did you happen to mention inserting more frames in the jump animation.
