Need Help With Character Movement

I'm using the move left and move right functions for character button to achieve character movement in portrait racing styled game. The character moves accordingly but the character's left and right movement is restricted near the edges, that is the character does not move till the edge of the screen. how can I achieve this movement where the character moves till the edge.
