Playing around with particle effects tonight and wanted to share a short video and the files used to create the effects. Can't say enough about particle effects, they rock! You can consider these files in the public domain, no need to ask to use them in your projects. I created them, you can have them.
Hey this looks great. Can you make this smoke effect in The Pit where it starts small and becomes a big faded cloud
@GTE Games sweet , thanks man! hey @sysads Im assuming you could just do this by changing the end size to a greater value and changing the lifespan of the particle.
Not perfect but similar smoke effect @sysads as @dougsavage1 says you need to change the size and set a low particle rate.
@dtanner2000's is a great one to use. @dougsavage1 is right. Jack the end size up. Emission rate is an important variable too. Position variation helps. (First two numbers). Then the speed needs to go pretty fast. @sysads, I think you are looking for something like attached, I used dtanner2000's image.
