I am curious what is the strategy behind this move. I can tell that the website is built on WordPress and the theme used is most likely Salient, shouldn't take more than a few seconds to add a link to the forum so new users can access it, ask questions and receive answers. This has already been reported several times.
It’s not that it’s difficult to do. But I guess until the negative vibe is gone from the forum it hurts business. So this is intentional (and to some extent understandable). You still can scroll down on the homepage and there is a small section where it mentions the community/forum.
I didnt even think about the negative vibes lol. You come here and bash BB or their methods...we get no easy link to forums. Its like a spanking from the dev team. lolol
Christoph nailed it. I really hate it, but this forum went from super positive to extremely negative in the span of a month. The vibe of our customer support channels, blog comments, external Facebook groups, etc, are not like this. We're not a snarky negative company, and I don't want to facilitate an environment like this... so we are fixing it as fast as possible. How? Well, first off, we are taking FULL responsibility for the bugs. 100%. We're working overtime on that. We're getting much better and will continue to do so. Internally, everyone knows that 2.3.3 is what I expect to be the "make people on the forum happy version". That's why Zack reached out to every single one of you who have had issues and tried to nail down specifically what it is so we can fix it. Second, we're banning the trolls. Notice how many negative people mysteriously vanished after the MC2.0 launch? We found out most of those people were not even Buildbox users, much less customers. Just like the guy I banned today, some of these guys have been trolling us for YEARS. We weren't on top of that, and now we are. I apologize for not doing this sooner. Third, we're introducing more pricing options so hobbyist developers can also use Buildbox. The complete version will be the same price, but we'll have other options as well to facilitate people who are just getting started, or need a more affordable option. Finally, we're also revamping the website. So my goal is to re-promote the forum along with the new website and pricing options.
@TreySmith What will be offered for customers like me? I paid about $2500 already for using BB subscription on a monthly basis for over 2 years.
Uh oh...the troll ban hammer has arrived lol. Its a shame you cant just limit forum access to paid customers. then that would scare off non bb customers as they couldn't see what people are doing with BB or ask questions. Honestly, make a no hate rule. All negative comments or angry bug users need to contact BB directly. If you have something bad to say about BB, either contact directly to help fix it, or take your negativity elsewhere. No need to complain in public about the issue you have when you can just contact support. it sucks to have to govern forums like this but free speech doesn't exist here unless you want it to lololol i did this on my forums years ago, about 350k users. You bash OHG, banned. If you have beef, contact us. You can bash OHG anywhere online, just not here. It worked.
You mean because of the pricing options? To be clear, the full version of Buildbox is not going to be cheaper. The complete version will be $99 per month, but we will have more limited access versions for cheaper.
ios version only for x. android version only for x. etc Could do like other software devs do, Mobile version exports @ $49 a month or whatever, windows/steam version @$24 a month, mac at x. whatever.
