Is It Possible To Run Both Buildbox 2 And Buildbox 3d On The Same Computer?

Since default installation directories are the same for Buildbox 2 and 3D I wondered if it is possible to run both softwares on the same machine, without any conflicts.

Yes you can. just name the folders different for 2d & 3d

 

Hi,based on my experience you cannot.When i launch both BB2 and BB3 one after other the software crashes irrespective of being renamed as stated above.

 

Maybe it depends on your computer and operating system because I do it all day on a iMac

Oh no, can not open both at the same time. I thought the question was the ability to open both BB2 and BB3 on the same computer, which I am able to do without issues, but not at the same time.

You could open BB2 and BB3 if you are having a Mac. Through a virtual machine (VM) (like Parallels), you can load Windows version of BB and on your Mac your Mac version at the same time along with your Windows version. I have done it.

But why you want to do such a thing to have both BB 2 and BB3 run on the same computer?

Hi,Yes through Vm ware or any virtual machine its possible but the question is to open it on same OS at a time .
And the reason is why not both?Working simultaneously
Not really the one feature what i need is to open both project at same time just like tabs in Browser and must have the ability to copy paste UI and world from one game to another.It would be great feature while designing UI and yes you may say being lazy too...

 

Yes, I agree @TheGameAppStudio it would be nice to have multi-tab feature in BB.

 

When I stalled BB3 it crashed my B2 as well. I had several issues. I was really surprised that occurred. I got help through the forums...but ultimately just uninstalled everything and reinstalled BB2...as at the time BB3 was infant and so non intuitive to me I decided BB3 was not for me at that time. I look forward to another trial once the login fix comes in 2.3.8 or whenever.
