Having Problems With Platforms?

    Hi, are any of you having trouble with platforms? My character just seems to go right through the objects that I make platforms.

    You need to set the physics. Platforms static, unless they are moving of course, and physics for your character.

    @spicedbeangames I set up the collision group and it seems to work with the platforms provided in the template but when I add my own objects and set them to platform it does not seem to work. Any suggestions?

    Thats because like @spicedbeangames said you need you make sure to go into the assets node menu and if yo click on the start node there is a little box that says physics check it and then leave it on static so that the platform does not move and make sure to do that same for the actor too but i would change the actor to dynamic or kinematic depending on what you are trying to accomplish with the actor

    could share what you did, seem to be having the same problem. -my character also seems to be flying though some of my objects, however seems to be fine when colliding with an enemy asset. any help is much appreciated thanks

    @MFK2018 if you double click on the object and then click the start if should have a check box for physics. You select that and then you add the mesh. Hope that helps:) [​IMG]

    Be careful with mesh colliders as mesh cannot collide with mesh. Use hull when you can

    @PunkPuffin that is exactly what I want to collide, flying character who is Mesh collision shape and tube shape(also mesh Collison)

    problem I have now is if I change the tube to 'hull' collision, the character collides but doesn't pass through the tube as shown in the photo.

    if I change the character to 'hull' Collison shape then tube to mesh it just passes through again.

    any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here would be appreciated.

    I am surprised that having the ship as hull passes through the mesh of the tube. I'm sure that shouldn't happen.

    Looking at your ship a cube collider would probably work just fine.

    Hi I've sorted it.

    what I was missing was I didn't have my Collison shape set as 'hull' under the 'if collide' section, on the very first start level under my character tab. thanks for everyones help once again
