Yes, if you just design your image in landscape resolution, but in a portrait orientation. So when you drop your splash screen image into BB, it will effectively look as if it's laying on it's side -90ยบ. Is that what you meant?
Actually I was trying to make my start/loading screen to be landscape. The first pic is the way it SHOULD be when loading. And the second is how it actually looks now on my iphone. The problem is when it's first loading - for a few seconds it's like on a second image (rotated and squeezed) and then it's rotated to the normal landscape the way it should be.
I'm working some best practices regarding BB and IOS graphics, covering launch screens as well. Hope to get this finished later today or tomorrow.
Can you check the Orientation of that image file? If you have a Mac you can use Preview and on that hit Cmd+I, you should see something like that:
@TreySmith, @Andy, can anyone please help with this? I reported this to support but no solution has been found yet. Am I the only one experiencing such problems with start screen orientation? I've attached the videograb of what's exactly going on on my actual device. And here's a screen of how it looks in the project I'm on macos, BB1, Xcode 7.3 beta
We've got this on the list to look at. I suspect there is an issue with the naming convention for one of the files.
This is how BB1 is using the images so far, at least what I could observe: iPad Air, Mini, Mini2, iPad 4: Launch Image: Default-ipad@2x.png Splash Screen: Default-568h@2x.png iPhone 5S: Launch Image: Default-568h@2x.png (+90 rotated and squeezed) Splash Screen: Default-568h@2x.png (landscape) iPhone 6S: Launch Image: Default-667h@2x.png (+90 rotated and squeezed) Splash Screen: Default-568h@2x.png (landscape) It seems as if the key settings in the plist files are not correct as the filenames do not match the used devices.
@Andy Great to know that something is being done about this. Any ideas when approximately it might be fixed? I'm paying for the software and find it great but obviously I can't release my game with this weird squeezed launch image. Thanks! @todro Thanks for taking time and looking into this. I hope it will help tech guys research this issue.
