What's a good relatively affordable Android device for testing apps? I don't want to step over dollars to pick up pennies so I understand if I'll have to spend more than I'd like.

I would probably pick up a phone that runs the minimum SDK 4.1 as an example. Most Sony Xperia phones are pretty good and cheap for a phone that is 3-4 years old now. The reason why I use a low standard phone is to test how it runs on lower end devices, and if it runs well on that, performance is good on the higher end phones.

Thank you Spicedbeangames! I was actually considering picking up a tablet at Best buy or similar. Would that work for testing purposes?
