Hey guys! Last week on monday we decided we will update our Floppy Bird Game. The first version was made by a freelance developer. But I wanted to give Buildbox a try. And boy, I was so impressed of how fast you can build a whole game in just a week! Especially because I have no idea of programming. Yes it was really a charm working with this awesome masterpiece of software! And today, one week later, I'm proud to announce we're live on the App Store! Floppy Bird Returns Here are some screenshots. Feedback would be awesome!
There's actually a proper clone of the original Flappy Bird that was riding high in the US app store for a while, made by someone totally different to .Gears.
Maybe they did when it was all the rage but since everyones busy making Color Switch clones, they let them slip now. It as been over 2 years
Very nice animations on the birds. I like how the main bird breaks the 4th wall. I think the the saturated colors work as well as the artwork.
And maybe because we call him Floppy and not Flappy. But Honestly; I don't know.. And thank you guys for the feedback!! We are already working on our next Buildbox game. We call it: Air Flip This is the app icon (but still work in progress):
Hey cool icons man! What program do you use to design them, photoshop? And do you use any color combination program or it is all combined by you?
how did you get a coin store past apple review? Do you have in house servers tracking coin buys? see this thread https://www.buildbox.com/forum/index.php?threads/character-purchases-using-coins.1963/
Thank you!! Yes I'm using Photoshop right now. I use Adobe Kuller. They have a great selection of color combinations and a nice tool to get complementary colors!
I honestly don't know. So you can get rejected for having a coin store? And no, we don't track coin buys..
that has been a recurring issue i see here on the forums... in fact, buildbox in house games no longer have coin shops for that very reason, they just stopped doing it in their games because of the rejection issue
Apple has always been very inconsistent in rule enforcement. I'm still not sure there is a clearly written rule in the Apple App Store guidelines.
Google Play is up and down. From experience, I had an app on there - a zig zag racing game with Vans, called Micro Van Racer. Then after 8 months, I updated it, then I was hit with an IP infringement - no detail what or what I was infringing. I emailed the 'brain' that is google, they provided no information and told me it was tough. So I pulled all my apps and will never sell on their store again. They are probably the worst store when it comes to communication if you do counter any problems and remember, its 3 strikes and your account is closed - no if's or buts - and that is over a life time.'Floppy bird' may be ok but I would tread carefully.
