3rd one, but change direction coming down instead of going up... doesn't your gameplay go top to bottom?
yah, i would even bring them down more so you see more of the trails... bring them down to the bottom so you fill the whole icon with the scene
I would compare the option with the trails with an other option where you use repeated circles like you do in your game. Also, I liked the other icon much better, but compare for yourself. The first one I tested on Appspark is much stronger. The trails take away the attention of the circles/buttons which is not good, neither for your gameplay nor your icon. Your game is not about the trails, but about the circles. http://www.appsparky.com/checkout-my-icon?id=qNQpjU# vs. http://www.appsparky.com/checkout-my-icon?id=kpgmDL
I would make two changes: 1. make the second circle in each row a little bit more transparent. 2. bring the 3 circles closer to each other. Like you had before in this icon. I also liked it how it is NOT centered. I think with this small changes you have a great icon with a lot of power. The only thing you should still consider is to change it upside down like suggested by @heathclose. I'm interested to see how you proceed with this game. It has a lot of potential.
I actually like the icon with the finger more, because it psychologically draws you in... it makes you want to press the icon and open the app! But the finger does look weird... experiment with a few variations of finger shape/size/color/etc.
Normally I can work out how someone has done it, this does make me think a lot... Congratulations, looks brilliant!
