Buildbox Classic Update Requests

Hi Thank you for the post @DariusGuerrero Also admob User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK should be integrated. So the game is compliant with Google’s new Consent Management Platform requirements. Google Warned us about that months ago and now my income suddenly dropped in one of my games that were built with buildbox. I know Buildbox is into AI game development but we as old game devs of Buildbox feel a bit abandoned. It is like not updating a game for your players so they can not continue to play the game. Imagine that. Thank you.

 

The problem has existed for years. Unfortunately, new versions that are not backwards compatible are constantly being released. Further development of the games is therefore not possible. This was already the case with BUILDBOX 1, 2 and 3. You can't always redevelop a game with the new engine and it doesn't make sense. Backwards compatibility with your engine would be the solution, but it is not possible. At least updates would be fair.

 

I believe Buildbox Classic is still powerful for developing games because it is easy to use and offers a gaming experience.

Yes, you're right about an update. Unfortunately, it has been the case for years that an update only comes when it is requested by goggle. You won't see any improvements. That was the case with BUILDBOX 1, 2 and will be the same with three. At some point, even 4 will no longer be sub-hours and there will be no downward compatibility.

 

Thanks God they update it. I no longer expect any new features for bb2 and that is alright. Their focus is on BB4 now as it should. Let's be glad they still update the engine with the new sdks and such..it's something.
It is not the engine that is keeping us from making more complex games, it is us. we are lazy for not switching to a new and more capable game engine.

 

Just as a tip. You don't need an update for BUILDBOX to comply with Google guidelines. It also works with android studio
