I created a game, my character is the one I add, and Google tells me that I do not have permission to use the character. This character I got with the purchase of BB or test, I do not remember. How can I prove that I have permission to use that character? What about the other characters obtained with the purchase? Thank you. Mail of Google: "Hi Developers at ., Thanks for submitting your app to Google Play. I reviewed XXX, com.XXX.xxx, and had to reject it because of an unauthorized use of copyrighted content. No, Sorry, I was editing the message. If I can write in the forum Exclusive for BB, I do not think it's SPAM.
I had the same problem. You need to send a PDF of the EULA from build box. The biggest issue they have is if you are trying to impersonate another game. So if you can prove via the EULA and a written explanation then you should be able to combat it. The downside is it took a month for me to finally get approved and about 3 different submissions.
Wouldn't it be easier to upload a new version without the particular character and in the meantime fight for your right?
After the experience I had with google I have vowed to never use assets someone else has access to. Easier said than done from a non artist. But I am going to have to deal with it as I finish 2 other games that were made using assets that I purchased and other people have too. Good luck in the battle of intellectual property @jcalle
What a crazy problem. I've seen so many games on Google Play using the same assets - just look at the match 3 games as an example. I did have the same problem with Apple once, but emailed them a link to graphicriver where I purchased art from and they were fine with that. The upside is that Google reached out - normally they just suspend, strike and you have to start over
I have sent a screenshot to Google of the email of the Buildbox purchase and the files delivered with the purchase. This is Google's answer: "Hi Developers at XXX., Thanks for contacting the Google Play Team. We’ve accepted your appeal for your app- XXXX (com.XXXXX). For the app to appear on the Play Store, you’ll need to sign into your Developer Console and click "Submit update" to submit your app again. You might need to make minor changes to your Store Listing, such as add/removing a space in the app description, to activate the Resubmit button. Before submitting, please make sure to review the Developer Policy Center for additional guidance. In the future, if you have proof of permission you can submit it to our team proactively using this form: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/6320428 The link can also be found on your Store Listing page underneath the box for Full Description. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks for supporting Google Play!"
Sounds like for the future it might be a good idea to include a copy of the Buildbox EULA as a link or pdf with submissions, just to ward off this kind of hassle. Eventually (hopefully) Google will get used to seeing apps created with Buildbox and not hassle us. (One can only hope!)
