Hi Boxers, here's my first attempt at a game, sort of a colour switching, flappy bird space shooter thing - shoot bricks the same color as your character to get through the walls, hitting bricks of a different color decreases lives. Nothing special, took a few days to make while taking a break from working on another game. The main objective of the app was to learn about all the other stuff we need to know once a bbdoc is completed - leaderboards, ad integration, building a binary, actually getting the thing on to the appstore! Only android at the moment, ios in review. All constructive feedback is very welcome, especially regarding polishing it, gameplay, graphics etc (Which I guess covers everything lol), cheers. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameglitter.brickbuster
Gameplay is slow Get better sound fx and music which match with your gameplay type. plus the rainbow line (graphics) can you do animation as in reference? make your background image little more darker so user can see your colors much better (study some color theories and parallel) "https://giphy.com/gifs/yellow-magenta-cyan-3otO6NFBIAFg2vPZuM
@ramjetsy7 i like the black brick shaking at the menu. I kept tapping it expecting a reward might be cool to add something like that.
@yenomeerf - Thanks for taking a look! I was wondering what black brick you meant, because there aren't supposed to be any! It looks like the custom font isn't showing correctly on some devices. Odd. What device were you using? PS, I was thinking of your signature when I released this app lol. @Bilz636 - Thanks for the feedback! Very useful. Gameplay speed is an issue I'm having problems with on every game. I build on win10, get a good speed in the emulator, try on phone and it's too fast to even react, also tested on 3 different android phones - all different (fast) gameplay speeds, so I slowed it down, but obviously too much. Any advice on getting consistent game play speeds across devices? Is it more accurate on mac/iphone? I'm working on your other comments, thanks a lot.
