Hi folks, I discovered this little time-saving tip on how to click and move multiple menus and UI's in the Buildbox Menu Editor on a Mac, so I made a short video for you.

    Cmd+Left Mouse Click (Mac)

Try using Ctrl+Click for (Windows) to see if it works too.

Seems to work more consistently when you make a slight movement whilst clicking, don't know why, just try it and see how you get on. It worked well for me and made laying out the menus and UI's a lot quicker, whilst designing a recent game.

    Nice one!
And once it's selected, you dont have to continue to hold Ctrl (Win). It stays grouped until you click on a non selected menu.
Also after a menu is selected you can click on a menu a second time to remove it from the group.
Pretty cool stuff! Thnx to @Phill Mason

Hi @Innovativeideas, welcome to Buildbox and the forum. For future reference, there is an entire category in the forum called "How Can I", your question would be much better suited there, as it will help keep original posts 'on topic' and also help other folks find stuff easier. Also, remember to use the 'search' function (at the top right of the forum page), to ask your question, as there may well be a few posts already answered to your exact question.

Ok, back to your question. You can use active connection mode, this allows you to connect objects together. One is the 'parent' and the other objects are 'child'. The icon to activate this is at the top right of the scene editor. Objects act differently depending on how they are connected. As a rule, child objects will take on the attributes/characteristics of the parent object, so in layman's terms, that means if you drag a connection 'from' object A and connect it to object B, B will act in accordance with object A's settings. Alternatively, if you do it the other way round drag 'from' B to A, A will have B's attributes/characteristics. You should experiment with this as you can get some crazy outcomes using the active connection mode.

To make life even easier, there is a preset in Buildbox called "Break The Chain", which is already setup with the character attached to a chain. I'd recommend you take a look at that, to fully understand how the connection mode works.

Also, checkout the Buildbox tutorial channel on youtube, there are tons of excellent videos to help you with all feature of Buildbox.

    Good luck.

Yes i have looked through the connection mode tutorials also. They clearly show how it works as your explanation confirms my understanding. :)
