Downwards Bounce Template - How To Make Ball Jump/boost?

So I'm using the Downwards Bounce template.

So currently my ball continuously bounces evenly along the platform.

My question is, how can I make the Ball have a sudden burst/boost forwards when the screen in tapped?

Maybe try another character button move right?

 

I've tried a "Move Right" and an "Advance move" and it doesn't seem to affect the ball.
I'm wondering if the Downwards Bounce values are stopping it. Im stuck

 

oh yea, just tried playing around with, yea I'm no help, sorry.

 

That's ok.
I'm sure there's a way. I'm just struggling to think of it xD

 

1. Add an action (lets name is boost).
2. Set the action to gameplay.
3. Then increase the character speed in the action's gameplay settings.
4. Set the duration to 1.
5. Add a action button in World UI and set it to "boost" and then set the refill to Unlimited Use.
   

So when the action button is clicked, it will change(increase/decrease) the character speed for 1 second.
And it will look as if the character had a temporary speed boost on tap!
