Yeah the Black and white really is Harsh on the eyes..and this is what you need to change for downloads and user retention...
@Machine Rises Fingers crossed for a good release! @smmsud @Jaky1 Thanks for your feedback! We will take it into account. @heathclose We actually did a soft release a few weeks back to study analytics (conversion, retention, engagement, etc.) and do a few updates before our actual launch which was yesterday.
Cool! I actually like the black and white part a lot but am no fan of the colored tail... hihi. What is a soft release? And yeah, some tips regarding the marketing and services you use would be awesome for us newbies to learn.
That usually refers to a launch when the product is not available to everyone all in once, but to a selected group of users, then graduately increasing the width of the audience. Pokemon Go is a very good example, first only available to US and Australia(?) and then Europe, maybe only to selected countries etc until it is available to everyone. You can use this technique for either marketing reasons or technical (like you are worried about kneeling down your servers if too many users wants to register at the same time, as it was the case with Pokemon Go)
@Christoph The colored tail is just one of our 23 unlockable characters or so but our main character is just the boring white @trudnai You are correct. Our soft release was meant to gauge analytics and make sure we hit certain marks across the board in engagement, retention, conversion and other metrics before moving forward with the launch and marketing campaigns. @smmsud I can't get into detail but we do large scale paid acquisition over a variety of platforms. We use between 12-20 different marketing channels for our campaigns depending on our goals. I personally wouldn't recommend any type of paid acquisition on casual/indie apps unless your very well versed in UA and monetization. From an ROI standpoint, it's just a losing bet most of the time if your not really experienced.
@Phillip Kung.. That's gr8.. Game doing good... Do you guys publish others games or not.. Wanted to know
