Background Moves Left/right When Game Is Downward?

How do I make the background image tile/move downward for a game where the character moves down, but its presently scrolling left/right?

The world settings have Direction at 90.

 

rotate background 90 or -90 degrees, a little trick of Buildbox

 

Since you have to rotate the background, what dimension should the image be so that is displays properly rather upside down? Thanks for the help
