Open my BB2 file and got an ERROR with no explanation and my file cannot be opened !!!!! What to do ????
Ive had this happen alot. No matter what i cannot get back in. After format....reinstall....this or that. Its like the bbdoc got corrupted. SO now everytime i make major advancements i make a backup of the bbdoc file. Incase it does get corrupt i can have a backup.
official response from BB - " Hi Eval, Just heard back: This archive is dead. It can't be read. Have no idea what happened to it. And nothing can be done with it. The file is corrupted, not the BBDOC info, but the file itself. Unfortunately without a more recent backup or an idea of what occurred that triggered this it's tough to tell what occurred here. That being said you always want to keep backups. Not only incase of running into a bug, but incase of file corruption due to an unforeseen shutdown or a whole other variety of things that could happen. Also if doing it frequently enough allows you to reverse changes or additions you decide against very quickly and cleanly. For most games we make we have like 40-50 BBDOC files at least. Like 001_Line_Zen.bbdoc all the way to 047_Line_Zen_Android_Optimizations.BBDOC. Basically very good practice in general."
I use Dropbox lets you recover I think two backups in the free version. Try to rename the file to ZIP, you can retrieve images if you've lost
This sucks big time. I'm very sorry to hear that. Probably the biggest nightmare that can happen to your game. What are you going to do? Rebuild the game? Was is already in an advanced state?
ForeverSave is slowly becoming my favorite piece of software, especially when I read things like this... I make it save to my dropbox every minute, so there are even cloud backups of every autosave iteration... Wow I am So sorry to hear about your predicament, that is truly awful... Where there no other copies?
maybe there is less memory in C drive that is why it is showing you that error. try to remove unnecessary content present in your c drive.
I'm just experiencing a similar error. I've been working for a few days on a project, and now, when I'm close to finish, BB says "Unable to extract an archive". I'm so frustrated! Any other project opens without any problem, but the current one, no...
I had this when BB crashed while I was using the preview. The file size gets smaller and corrupt. I never found a way to open it. I had to restart. Now I back up all the time.
