    Hello.

I just purchased a subscription to BB2, but I can't open the software. It says "Activation failed. Please contact support@buildbox.com for resolution."

I have already contacted support, and they gave me a new activation key, but it's still giving me the same error popup when I try to open it, and then immediately closes. It's the weekend, so I'm not getting a response. Does anyone know how I can get to the activation screen without this happening so I can put my activation key in?

Are you on a Mac? you can try deleting the preferences in user/Library/Preferences and delete com.eightcell.buildbox and com.eightcell.buildbox.plist

I looked through the folder for those files and they weren't in there. I also searched my entire machine (yes, iMac) with no results. And every time I try and re-download BB2 from the support email, I install it and the "created date" is wrong. I'm pretty stumped, and I appreciate your help on this one. Do you have any other suggestions?

Make sure you are looking in the correct folder. There are two Library folders.

In the finder menu bar click go, then hold the option key and you will see a Library option appear. click that

@Krazy Jay, if you have been using buildbox for a year and this issue, has only just come around then support is the only way to go. Be sure to let them know that information as it will help them

I've only had Buildbox for a month on an old email. I have purchased the black friday sale for a year on a new account, and this is the first time its happening to me on my PC (not laptop, laptop is fine)...

Mahalo Nui Loa Miko! (Thank You Very Much Miko!)
All Thanks and Praise should be directed to Miko@buildbox.com

Okay... For PC users, follow these steps and everything should work out fine, it worked instantly for me!

"The AppData folder, which contains subfolders containing program data and settings, is one of the system folders that Windows hides by default. To view the folder in File Explorer, you need to change the folder options in the Control Panel to display all hidden drives, folders and files. After making this change, the AppData folder appears grayed out in your user account folder, but you're able to access it and make changes. If you have an administrator account, you can access the AppData folder for other accounts as well."

    Step 1

Open a Windows File Explorer window and go to the "View" tab.

    Step 2
Click the "Options" button on the ribbon and then go to the "View" tab on the Folder Options window that opens.

    Step 3
Click the box beside the "Show Hidden Files, Folders and Drives" option in the list of advanced settings.

    Step 4
Click "Apply" and then "OK" to unhide hidden items, including AppData.

    Step 5
    Navigate To C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\eightcell\Buildbox\com.eightcell.buildbox

    Step 6
Once there, delete the com.eightcell.buildbox folder.

    Step 7
    Reopen Buildbox, Re-Enter Your Serial#
(You should be able to see the screen that you enter your serial # now)

I have tried that couple of times.

With buildbox 2 and buildbox 3 ... screen comes up to enter the license key.
I enter the license key and click "I agree to the license agreement"
Then window pops up "Buildbox has been successfully activated"
Then I click "OK" and loads new welcome screen ... and another window pops up with error message "Activation failed. Please contact support@buildbox.com for resolution"

Then I navigate to "C:\Users\\AppData\Local\eightcell\Buildbox\com.eightcell.buildbox" and I delete the folder with license ... Open the buildbox and it's asking me for license key again, I enter the key and it says that it's successfully activated and after that I get the same error message that activation failed again.

My firewall and virus protection are off.
    I don't use VPN.
    I don't use WiFi.

    Please help

Try uninstalling BB first, then delete the files, and now reinstall it. Try your serial key again when it prompts you to do so, and see if this helps fix your problem...

    Still the same, activation failed.

I even tried on my laptop just for curiosity because it's running win7 ... same thing.
