Buildbox 1.3.6 Is Released! *read This*

    Hey guys!

    After long last Buildbox 1.3.6 is here. We've had a ton of updates since the last release (way too long ago). But first a few notes:

    1) Mac users not running El Capitan, you will need to rename the Icon from "BuildBox" (or anything else) to "Buildbox" before running the update. Capitalization is important here. Going forward different Icon names will not affect the updates.

    2) Mac users running El Capitan, try updating per the note above. Some users may still need to download manually as there were some potential issues with the auto-updater and El Capitan. This is fixed in this release going forward.

    Windows builds seem to be auto-updating just fine. :)

    *IMPORTANT* - This release contains many fixes to some core gameplay, we've tested against many different game types to keep behaviors the same. We've had to resolve conflicts between some different gameplays that were really tough to solve (much of this was the work around jumping and defeated animations). So please if you have an issue send an example file to support@buildbox.com that illustrates the problem and we will help work through any issues.

    well, it broke my game and keeps crashing... but like an idiot, i didn't keep 1.3.5 where can i get 1.3.5 till I hash this out?

    crisis averted, i downloaded 1.3.5 from the email... game unbroken...

    can confirm that changing "BuildBox" to "Buildbox" worked for me :)

    yes that does work, however, i would advise downloading fresh from @Andy 's link so that if 1.3.6 gives you any problems with a game developed in 1.3.5, you still have 1.3.5 on your system...

    WOW this looks sumptuous :D - Windows is requesting auto update but I have chosen to install alongside 1.3.5 just in-case ;)

    if you use checkpoints and the character dies, the score amount does not reset like a normal distance game. So it will increase and your best score amount will keep getting higher even when u die. (note that i assign score on a power up coin menu)

    @gurdippy I can confirm that also, It now does the same thing as bb 2.0 beta on "Score Amount" or the score per session. It does not reset at all. It keeps on increasing.

    Also the Asset bar gets over filled with the asset images. See attached.

    that might be the external monitor thing.. are you using one? what happens if you drag it to the laptop, does it fix it?

    @gurdippy and @Jayson does the score start from what your score would be if you got to the checkpoint, or does it add to your score you had when you died?

    Few extra bugs noticed:

    -Banner ads appear on all views, even if they are set to 0. This only occurs every now and then.
    -The Continue Game button on the Pause screen is constantly in its pressed state (shaded image). A work around is to add the same image to its selected state.
    -The button actions for all views duplicate depending on the times you press the drop down.
    -The Sound On action in the Pause Screen only turns on SFX? The BGM remains muted.
    -Light sources connected to moving objects no longer show at all. I've re-made the objects and found out that if your light sources are connected to a "decoration" object they won't appear, "platform" works.
    -Delete object crashes seem more frequent.
    -As per above, the score after a checkpoint constantly increments.

    My game doesn't have checkpoints. It is built from 1.3.5. The "Score Amount" counts as if scores were coins if it doesn't make things more confusing. haha The thing is, it should reset after a game restart, which it does not do.

    The Asset bar is not an external monitor thing. I tried it as you suggested. No luck haha. I also tried scaling my display from the default retina scale to the 1:1 resolution + BB 1.3.6 restart. It still does that.

    If we could just fix the Heyzap Rewarded Video Bugs in 1.3.5, I would be very happy. :D

    I just tried to upload my build to the app store using 1.3.6 and I got the following error message. Anyone know how to fix this?

    @David D we rewrote all the code that handles the launch images to fix issues with Xcode 7 and iOS 9. We did quite a bit of testing in the simulators and on hardware. I'll need to take a look at this on Monday to see what is happening that Apple does not like regarding the upload.
