If on Android try turning off shadows. We're working on some updates to help optimize that area, but on Android turning the shadows off currently will help immensely

You can turn off shadows in 3D model node.

You may have too many assets in your scenes. Try adjusting the camera angle and deleting assets within the scen that you wont be able to see while youre playing.

    Hello, I'm new with Buildbox.
I exported 2 template projects on Android.
    Flappy Box and Car Collision.
Build all games are running slow. 5FPS…
My smartphone is a Samsung Galaxy J4+ and Motorola Moto E.

There are performance problems with Android devices.
I have tested with Samsung J5 and this model handled it well.

    Hi,
I had a similar problem... that it was solved partially!
    Maybe you could review this:
I had to review all the colliding objects with the character: colliding objects using meshes in collide work fine, but it is more slow!
I had to use in objects colliding (standard colliding) like sphere, cube ... and hide it!!

This, greatly improved performance. But, I do not understand, that On BB emulator is spectacular! It is very fast and the camera moves very softly. Works very fine!
On Android devices remains more slow!

    I hope this help you!
    All the best!

    Same here.
Buildbox 3 games can't run on high resolution devices.
My game runs ok on 720p resolution. Can't run on 1080p or 1440p or Up+.
So Buildbox 3 is just for crappy low resolution phones such as iPhone 5,6,7,8,Xr,11

Tested with my friend S8's (1440p) everything good, tested with Mate 20 Pro my game is very slow..

    So it depends..

So I exported my first game (3D Flappy bird style) to my Pixel 3XL for testing and I found this same problem. It is unplayable because of how slow it runs. Any ideas if this will be fixed soon?? So far I've heard removing shadows and assets but my game uses the shadows so I can't take them out without just changing the aspect of the game. There are no more than 7 assets at the most in each scene so hopefully, that's not it.

I had the same issue, it was running fine on buildbox but was very slow on my android phone.
So i figured out that the texture of the plane (Ground) that i was using had so much tilling in x and y. So i lowered it and it worked fine now.

lightning and textures make the game very slow and laggy.
I recommend to use smart penguins fps meter and test how the game runs every time with every single change you make.

we seriously in need for a fix for this ... even with shadows off, it is still slow to the point that we can't complete the projects and publish them

    Hi there,
I also had the same problems when developing a 3d game.
My main problem was that my assets were too big(ex. I scaled the walls too high on the y-axis). Once I had scaled my assets down, my project ran spectacularly!

I know that you used a flappy box, so I assume you might have scaled the pole a bit too big. Try scaling your project down, and it should work better.

ps. While i haven't tried this, I have a hunch that glossy textures can also contribute to a laggier experience due to more calculations being made. Try eliminating glossy textures in your game and replace them with matte one.

    Good Luck.
