Hi everyone, I have been building my game and was wondering if I could have some feedback on the different backgrounds of each game. The original version are the images with the dark black backgrounds. I am not sure if I want to keep that or change it to the gray background. Thanks.

The white is basically the landscape of everything. Any colored objects are enemies

The black background is my preference. The grey looks too washed out. Much more dynamic with pure black.

You need to adjust the your character to display the shadow correctly. Make sure you character is on top of the light if you are using a circle as the collision shape. This is because we have to take a shortcut to determine the shadow for performance purposes. It doesn't display correctly if the light is on top.

Thanks @Andy, I was wondering why that was happening. I fixed it.
As for the background now. I have one more color which I think is just right. What do you think of this? Screenshot-1136x640-2016-01-12-06.42.08PM.png

Thats a much better balance between the pure black and the grey. Works for me.

Yes, that is understood. Your contrast problem is caused by the black and white hues coming in contact with each other. Try and work with gradients that are made of dark and light shades of the same color (purple in this case). See the attached image.
