Wonder when BB3 will have support for this. I feel that it will be a game changer for sure!

Lots to take from this exciting announcement. However, Google failed to mention how they will monetise games. Will it be a subscription model like Spotify? If so, we all know the arguments Artists have over tiny payments there. So called triple A studios all fighting for a slice of $15-$20 a month fee.

Right now, Stadia only works if you have a good internet connection (25mb) but Xbox works on 3. I know Google say this will improve but didnt say when and for the average Joe, there's a massive cost spike between a standard low speed connection and higher speeds.

OnLive (remember them?) suffered from input lag, so that will also be interesting to see how google cope with that too. Either way, it is exciting but given Googles track record at abandoning projects, its a risky one too.

Google seems to be pretty invested in this and I think that is why last year they did the assassins creed test. To make sure they can actually accomplish what they want before actually going full force with things.

Of course it will need to be improved but that will happen with time. Xbox live and PlayStation got to where they are with years of experience and working on their individual solutions. Google will get there.

This also is big for mobile games. Think of a world were when you developed a game you don't need to worry about which platform you develop on. Like right now PC users have a hard time releasing on Apple because you need a Mac in order to do so. This way you just release on stadia and boom any device can play your game!

I think if this takes off it will benefit everyone. Gamers, content creators, content viewers, and developers!

I see lots of benefits, but will the smaller players - like us, get push out? Small developers have already been pushed out of the App store unless there's a stroke of luck that games a game featured, which doesnt hold the same weight as it did 3 years ago.

Until they release how developers can monetise, this will make or break it for many. Rumours are subscription service which would not work for smaller players.

via Wired: "When it launches later in 2019, Stadia will be playable on Chromecast devices, PCs and laptops via Chrome browsers or ChromeOS, and using the Stadia app on a Pixel phone. Yes, that means not on iOS—not even using the Chrome browser on an iPhone or iPad."

Odd because I have seen many places say otherwise and someone that tested their project stream on a mac and it worked just fine.

Seems to be a lot of mixed messages out there.

    TechCrunch commented...
"Interestingly, Google didn’t mention Apple devices at all. So if you have an iPhone or an iPad, don’t hold your breath. Apple doesn’t let third-party developers sell digital content in their apps without going through the App Store. This will create a challenge for Google."
