So yes, so far platformer games from Buildbox are on steam. But you can make other gameplay types too. I know Phases was originally going to be on Steam. There are Hyper-casual games on Steam too. BitXL series of games. Typically any game type as long as it's landscape could work on Steam

 

As mentioned, these are desktop games so landscape is best by far, it's a very different market than mobile.
